What is what generation is after gen z?

There isn't a universally agreed-upon name or definitive start and end dates for the generation after Gen Z. Demographers and sociologists are still debating this. However, the generation following Gen Z is often referred to as Generation Alpha.

Here's what we generally know about Generation Alpha:

  • Birth Years: Generally considered to be born from around 2010 to the mid-2020s (the exact years are still being defined).

  • Defining Characteristics (potential): It's still early to definitively characterize Gen Alpha, as the oldest members are only teenagers. However, some potential characteristics based on current trends are:

    • Tech-Native: They've grown up entirely surrounded by technology, even more so than Gen Z. They're likely to be incredibly comfortable with AI, virtual and augmented reality, and other emerging technologies.
    • Globalized Worldview: They've grown up in a more interconnected world with increased access to global information and cultures.
    • Increased Awareness of Social Issues: Similar to Gen Z, they're likely to be highly aware of and concerned about social and environmental issues.
    • Personalized Experiences: They're likely to experience highly personalized education, entertainment, and marketing due to advancements in technology.
    • Resilience: Many have grown up experiencing significant global events like economic recessions and pandemics, possibly leading to increased resilience.

It's important to remember that these are potential characteristics, and the actual defining traits of Generation Alpha will only become clearer as they mature. The impact of technology and global events on their development will significantly shape their identity and values.
